Move over, Mom!

Perhaps some of you have heard about the way education is leaning in the communist states.

If you're a child raised in a communist state, such as, say, China, you really have no say about your education. Your future career is chosen for you at an early age (for some as early as 3-4) by the government, and the school you attend is the one you're assigned to, which is provided to you by the "loving" government (who is only looking out for your best interests, mind you) who's only real interest is to indoctrinate you to believe and rely upon the official state policies.

Scary? One might think so. Aren't you thanking your lucky stars right now that you live in the United States of America? Land of the free and.... What? You live in California? Never mind then.

California has moved yet one step closer to socialism.

Last week, a bill was drafted and brought to the California Senate regarding homeschooling. The bill proposed that parents not be allowed to educate their own children via the mode of homeschooling without proper qualification, which is having a teaching license. California is a little different than other states in regards to teacher licensing. California doesn't consider you licensed unless you were licensed in California. Foreign or inter-state licenses need not apply. So for any of you teachers from the other 49 states, you're not qualified to teach your own children. Hop over the border to Arizona and you are. Sorry about the inconvenience.

If the proposed bill were passed today, that would leave California with 166,000 truant children tomorrow. I bet the California chapter of the NEA just loves that. For each child in public school, the school receives $7,127 from the state. That means that the schools would be receiving an extra $1,183,082,000 a year  if the bill was passed. Do we as intelligent human beings, having observed the American bureaucracy really believe that the public school system is spending $40 per day per child on education? Imagine the wild success a homeschool parent could have if they were provided with those funds.

Honestly, this boils down to fear. The liberals are afraid that homeschoolers really might be beating the system. They really might be providing better education in a more wholesome environment than public schools could ever dream of. The only way the liberals can beat this is by throwing the book at homeschoolers, not by competing with them. That would be too difficult. By forcing everyone to be educated in a "real" school, liberals can achieve a perfect world: where everyone is tolerant (except of Christians and homeschoolers), everyone is pro-choice, and everyone votes for Dianne Feinstein.

Suprise! Kerry Did It Again!

This is infuriating! First, John Kerry says this to a group of Pasadena college students:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

How insulting can one be? Kerry has denegraded the troops before, but this time, he's called them outright unintelligent. Basically, he said that America has some sort of "social draft"; smart boys and girls go to college, dumb ones join the army because they have no other option. What he obviously doesn't know is that 91% of military officers have Bachelor's degrees and 60 some-odd percent have Master's degrees!!

Yesterday, President Bush demanded an apology:

"The Senator's suggestion that the men and women of our military are somehow uneducated is insulting and shameful. The members of the United States military are plenty smart and plenty brave, and the Senator from Massachusetts owes them an apology."

Also yesterday, Kerry had a press briefing and replied:

"I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and of his broken policy. If anyone owes our troops in the fields an apology, it is the president and his failed team and a republican majority in the Congress that has been willing to stamp, rubber-stamp, policies that have done injury to our troops and their families."

...Shoving the blame on anybody else but himself.

Senator Kerry claims that he wasn't referring to the troops, he was referring to President Bush. He was also making a joke, but he "botched" it. This is what he supposedly is meant to have said:

"Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."

Um, right. John Kerry doesn't need to be talking about President Bush's "bad grades". President Bush had a higher college GPA than Kerry did! Also, I'm curious to know, if one is "intellectually lazy", how does one become President of the United States?

Even if Kerry did have the benefit of the doubt, where is the joke in all of this? Is there anything funny to be found?

Of course, the Democrats don't want to be associated with this kind of behavior (although they usually do stand behind it ) right before an election. So the Democrats started condemning Kerry's announcement, and along with the White House, demanded an apology. It's somewhat interesting that he refused to apologize until Hillary Clinton denounced his statement today. Suddenly, he's "apologetic":

"As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.

It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops."

As a combat veteran, he came back from Vietnam lying about the "atrocities of war" that went on there. Oh, nooo... of course he wouldn't say anything negative about the troops. Never.

Senator Kerry issued his first two statements on national TV. This statement, however, was a retraction that he posted on his website. That is a sure-fire way to publicly apologize. Baically, in his apology, he stated that he regrets that we (as the national audience of his statment)  misinterpreted him. He's sorry that we made a mistake. Our bad! He's also sorry that anyone was offended. Notice that he's not apologizing that he did the offending, or that he was wrong in making the statement. He doesn't want to take the blame. Also, it's amazing how he claims that the Republicans want to create a diversion from the issues. Is that what the Democrats did when they made a federal case out of the Mark Foley scandal (which legally, was nothing at all ) two weeks prior to the election? Is that what the Democrats did when they wouldn't (and still won't) drop what Rush Limbaugh said about Michael J. Fox?  He claim to want to provide real security and a winning strategy for our troops. Well, we can start by providing them body armor (which he voted against) and boosting their morale by not letting them be insulted by a Senator who obviously doesn't appreciate their sacrifice!

Even if the troops weren't educated, does it really matter as long as they can shoot to kill? Is one man's trigger finger less qualified than another's simply because he didn't graduate from Yale? Honestly, how appreciative is it to denegrade those who have lesser education and to point out their intellectual inequalities when they are out there putting their lives on the line for you?

It's absolutely shameful what John Kerry did, and the "apology" he offered was no apology at all. I'm disappointed in the Republicans for letting it go like they have. Every time the Republicans have a "scandal", the Democrats won't drop it for weeks. In this case, where it is legitmate to have some righteous indignation, the Republicans should give the Democrats a taste of their own medicine.

A Brainwashed Culture

I'm tired of the media infiltrating its personal opinions into its journalism. American society has been inundated with the Leftist Agenda for too long. Too often are the liberal talking points considered the unobstructed truth, when in reality, they are the exact opposite. Last Sunday, in the Longview News-Journal, a liberal wrote a letter to the editor and spouted off talking point after talking point. I was ill after I read it. Every single item that was mentioned in his letter was a lie. Here's what he wrote:

Hold Republicans to same standard

"RE: "Attacks on Bush are unpatriotic" by Dennis Jones of Longview. I just wanted to remind Jones that while Bill Clinton was in office and our troops were fighting in Bosnia, Republicans were calling Clinton a rapist and murderer. I would like to remind everyone that Republicans Bob Ney and Randall Cunningham have pleaded guilty to taking bribes. Remember that Republican Mark Foley attempted, via e-mail and text messaging, to seduce a 16-year-old boy into sex acts. Remember that Republicans Karl Rove and Scooter Libby conspired to reveal the identity of a covert CIA agent. Remember that under Republican rule we are seeing attempts to repeal civil rights, trash the Constitution, and an unprecedented growth in government bureaucracy and pork barrel spending. No one is attacking our troops and commander-in-chief. We are simply holding them to the same high standards that they would expect of others. Standards to which, unfortunately, Republicans hold others while exempting themselves."

Everything mentioned in his letter has been proven false!! His information is not credible in the least! Yet, with all of his heart, he believes these lies to be true, simply because he heard it from the media. The American source of justice and honesty.

Here is what I replied last week:

Truth is skewed by the liberals

"Regarding the letter from G.M. :

This is one more example of how the media is disregarding the truth and is brainwashing America with its leftist ideology.

Here's some truth: Mark Foley tried to "seduce" an 18-year-old adult into sex acts. Nothing physically sexual was done. I'm not saying that's moral, but it is absolutely legal. Unlike Representative Gary Studds, who privately took a 17-year-old page to the Bahamas with him for the weekend. Mark Foley resigned at the first request from the Republican Party. When Gary Studds refused to resign after being censured by the House, he returned to a standing ovation by the Democrats. It's somewhat ironic how liberals are "simply holding them (Republicans) to the same high standards..." yet, when Clinton was taken to court in the Lewinsky scandal Democrats were saying that his sexual life was private, and as long as it didn't affect his job that he could basically do whatever he wanted. Why then, are they not offering the same privacy to Rep. Foley, who did nothing illegal?

Karl Rove and Scooter Libby did not "conspire" to reveal the identity of a covert CIA agent. Valerie Plame's identity was revealed by Richard Armitage, and even then she was not a covert CIA agent. She never was. Nothing illegal was done, yet Scooter Libby resigned anyway, as was the honorable thing to do.

We are seeing attempts to trash the Constitution under Republican rule. That's correct.

I'm seeing a nation where freedom of speech is being restricted in the public schools, where children aren't being allowed their First Amendment rights of the free exercise of religion by praying aloud. I'm seeing the Constitution being rewritten with such statements as "separation of church and state." If you look in the Constitution, that phrase will not be found. The Conservatives are not the ones pushing for that agenda, however. It is the Liberals who are twisting history to suit their agenda, when in fact, the original purpose of the Constitution was to protect the very rights that the Liberals are stripping away.

The President is indeed being attacked. Harry Reid has called him "a loser" in front of an elementary school class. That is indeed unpatriotic. We should be giving the President the respect his office deserves. He has been called a traitor by the likes of Al Gore when he screamed during a speech, "He betrayed this country!"

Bill Clinton was not a rapist or murderer; any Conservatives calling him that were off base. They should have been calling him an adulterer and a perjurer, since that is what he was.

Sadly, Americans are being spoon-fed lies by the media without researching the truth for themselves. A nation that does not think for itself is destined for failure. Americans have the power to vote and to make decisions regarding the future of the greatest country on this earth. Let's not waste that privilege by not being informed."

The Liberals are going too far. They have inundated the media too long. It is sad when talk radio hosts such as Sean Hannity are considered "radicals". Conservatives need to unify and take back the media and the political arena by storm. Let's join together and stand as one to tell the media that we've had enough of their lies. It's time for the truth to be told.
